Natural ventilation with wind-powered roof turbine ventilator and earth-tube

Hello,

I need to model a natural ventilation system with an undeground pipe for introduce cool air (I think it can be considered an earth tube) and then I need to model a wind-powered roof turbine ventilator for natural extract the warm air form inside the room of the house. How can I model this? I use DesignBuilder v7.

Thanks

@fededea94 what simulation tool are you planning to use? Please mention it in your title or body of the post, as well as the tag, so that others can provide better help.

You will find the earth tube option at the bottom of the HVAC tab. I've seen passive roof ventilators modelled to enhance natural ventilation via both buoyancy and external wind pressure (Monodraught etc.), but I haven't see a wind-powered roof "turbine" ventilator. I'd suggest you raise a ticket on the DesignBuilder Support Desk here for guidance on that: https://support.designbuilder.co.uk/

Thank you very much, I've seen the earth tube now (I never see before because usually I use calculated natural ventilation and the earth tube there is only with scheduled natural ventilation). I have opened a ticket on the DesignBuilder Support a week ago but I've not yet received an answer. Which kind of passive roof ventilators modelled you have seen? I'm looking for different idea.

It's been a few years since I modeled one, but try looking for products like a Monodraught Windcatcher: https://www.monodraught.com/products/.... As far as I recall these are fairly easy to model in DesignBuilder.

Thank you for the answer. I'll try to start my analysis from this kind of windcatcher. I have a question about this: do I need to model them just as a zone with hole and connected to the zone where I need to have this? Do I need to model other things? Thanks
