Help using Measure Tags

Hi everyone, I have been trying to use measure tags for different window configurations but haven't had much luck seeing their respective impact on the simulated building. See below for the described measure tags.

Changing any of these measure tags has had no effect on total building outputs for heating and cooling, regardless of pane number or fenestration low emissivity coating. I feel as if I am missing something obvious here. How can I go about running a simulation that recognises these tags and adjusts the window to reflect these values? Any help would be truly appreciated.

Measure tags are just that, tags that get put in the OSM so that measures can make use of the data. As you have learned they do not on their own alter what gets written to an IDF file or what the EnergyPlus simulation results are. The first use of these was related to tagging space types for early ASHRAE AEDG measure to know the intended use type of a space without having to infer it from the name. This is still used today, including by the baseline automation and create typical measures. Later measure tags were added or constructions in support of specific workflows for CBECC-COM. It would use those tags to generate OSM constructions which in turn are translated to IDF constructions. I'm not aware of other measures outside of CBECC-COM that make use of the measure tags for construction, although some measures might make use of intended surface type.
