Plugin extension trouble

Hello,

I have installed Sketchup 2017 Make, Sketchup Pro 2020 (Trial), OpenStudio 3.0.1, and EnergyPlus 9.3.0. I am using windows 64 bit.

If I remember correctly from my previous success, the next step is to go into the extension manager and import the openstudio ruby extension. However, there is no accessible .rbx file to select in the Ruby folder under the OpenStudio folder. (I have looked elsewhere even though I know this is the right spot)

edit: I see that in my previous successfull OpenStudio 2.9.1 folder there was a folder called "SketchUpPlugin" that is not in the openstudio 3.0 folder.

Do you have any advice?

Thank you, Cullen

The OpenStudioApplication and the openstudio-sketchup-plugin are now separately maintained by the OpenStudio Coalition:

openstudiocoalition/openstudio-sketchup-plugin

openstudiocoalition/OpenStudioApplication

The docs are now at https://openstudiocoalition.org/.

You'll see in the releases notes for the sketchup-plugin 1.0.1 how to install it: https://github.com/openstudiocoalitio.... You'll need the OpenStudio Application v1.0.1 (NOT the SDK 3.0.1 only) and sketchup 2019 or 2020.

Quoting for convenience:

This SketchUp Plugin is to be used with the OpenStudioApplication v1.0.1 or higher

Installation Steps

  1. Install OpenStudio Application v1.0.1 or higher 2 . Install SketchUp 2019 or 2020 desktop client if not already installed.
  2. Download openstudio.rbz plugin
  3. Launch SketchUp desktop client. Navigate to: Window -> Extension Manager -> Install Extension -> Browse to openstudio.rbz
  4. A dialog box will prompt for root path of OpenStudio Application, e.g. 'C:\openstudioapplication-1.0.1'. It should automatically populate if the OpenStudio Application was installed to the default location.
  5. SketchUp should now load the extension.

I must add that so many things have changed location since the beginning of the year, it has been frustrating. However, I have never encountered such a thoughtful, caring, and engaging community. Thank you again.
