heating meter all fuels

Hello All, I am trying to simulate a bunch of buildings in PAT and extract the heating: electricity or heating:gas from them. However, I am not aware which of those buildings have gas and which ones have electricity. To overcome the problem is there a heating meter that is fuel agnostic and can give heating values for any fuel? I tried using heating variables from rdd file namely heating rate and heating energy but somehow they sum up to a value greater than heating:electricity for the same building. Same is the case with Heating:energy transfer meter. Is there any other meter that I am missing?

Thanks all

You can put both meters in every building's input file. If you have a natural gas meter in your file but your building has no natural gas, it generates a warning in the .err file but the warning is harmless and EnergyPlus still runs.

For what it's worth, the warning will look something like:

** Warning ** Output:Meter: invalid Key Name="PROPANE:FACILITY" - not found.

Thanks, I think the above workflow is valid only for heating meters, since I used the same strategy for Water heaters but did not get the same behavior. The workflow crashed for the buildings that did not have electric/gas water heating or no water heating at all. Is there a fuel neutral meter for water heating then?

It worked correctly for me: ** Warning ** Output:Meter: invalid Key Name="WATERSYSTEMS:GAS" - not found.
