Convert DOE2.3 files to EnergyPlus format

Hello, while I am trying to convert my .inp files to .idf format, I came across a few tools:

  1. DOE2Translator - This could not convert properly. I guess spaces in u-names are creating the problem. Even though some objects were converted, their properties and values are not completely not transferred.
    • Do I have to first convert the DOE2.3 file to DOE2.1 file and use the translator? How to convert DOE2.3 to DOE2.1?
    • Or do I have to change the u-names without having spaces and special characters?
  2. BTAP - This is converting only a few of the geometry objects. Is there a way to convert all other objects like schedules, constructions, materials, people, zones etc.,
  3. DOE2EP - I could not find this program. Is this and DOE2Translator the same?

Any help is greatly appreciated

As the author of DOE2Translator, I can tell you that it was intended to translate DOE-2.1e into an EnergyPlus input file but not DOE-2.3. I do not believe there is a way to translate DOE-2.3 into DOE-2.1. I do not think it would be an effective path to get DOE-2.3 files into EnergyPlus files.

I'm not as familiar with DOE2EP but I believe that was developed for a specific project in California by Joe Huang to translate a bunch of prototype buildings from DOE-2.1 to EnergyPlus. I would think you would have similar problems using it for DOE-2.3 as you would with the DOE2Translator. I am not sure that it is available, you would have to contact the author.

As far as BTAP, you can see more about it in answer to this question.
