HOT2000 - Blower Door Pressure Test Results Out of Bounds

Hi.

I am getting this error whenever I try to Calculate/Generate a report for this energy model. I don't have blower door testing as this is a new construction. Under the Natural Air Infiltration section I have tried changing the Air Tightness Type, and even manually entering a blower door test value, and it keeps giving me this error although with different numbers.

I should disclose that this is a 4-storey building, and half of the GF and lower level is a parking garage, and I have modelled the parking garage as an exterior space so the footprint of the 2/F, GF and Lower Level are all different. I wonder if this is tripping the model up?

Any help would be appreciated and thanks.

Hi Jdubster,

This happens because your manually inputted effective leakage area does not update the same as your manually entered air leakage value. It's a HOT2000 bug.

To fix it, make sure the effective leakage area is selected to "calculated" and not "user defined". This automatically changes sometimes. =Next, manually click on your effective leakage area and make sure it updates when you change your air leakage value. Send me a message if you can't figure it out and still get this error. I don't have H2K on this pc now but can send a screenshot of the fix if that would be helpful.

When the Equivalent Leakage Area is on "Calculated", it does update when I change the Air Change Rate. When I try to Alt+C Calculate it will give me error. I have discovered that if I set the value at 0.1 in2 it will not give me an error, but likely it won't give me the results I need. Any ideas?

Change "Equivalent Leakage Area" "Type: User specified" to "Type: Calculated". That's the problem. If it doesn't immediately update, try to click your mouse in the "value" field and make sure it updates. If it doesn't go out of the air infiltration tab, then back in. Or change airtightness type to a specific number, then click back to blower door test values. Will eventually update with a more reasonable value.

I have to install H2K to see if I can get it to work. Will get back to you once I do that. If you are an EA you can message NRCan. They will eventually fix any bug you have.

I did change it to "Calculate", it updates the number immediately, and when I try to generate a report it pops up the error. Unfortunately I'm not a registered EA with NRCan.
