Has Radiance been tested against the CIE 171:2006 test cases?

Hi All, I'm pretty new around here, and a total novice when it come to daylighting simulations. Nevertheless, I'm launching myself into an MSc dissertation that proves low energy buildings have inherently poor daylighting (low energy is my 'thing'). My professor has tasked me with finding research studies where the accuracy of Radiance has been verified against the appropriate test cases. I know the God of CDBM software must have been tested in this respect, but having trawled all databases available, I'm starting to scratch my head a little... :-| Can anyone point me towards research papers where CIE test cases have been done in Radiance?

Hi,

I did work on validating Radiance against CIE 171 some years ago during my PhD work. Parts were presented at the 2008 Radiance workshop (https://radiance-online.org/community...), more is in my PhD thesis (https://www.dropbox.com/s/bvkvhyk9an6...).

Thank you very much indeed for you reply. Your PhD thesis I had read about, but had not managed to find until now. Test Case 5.8 is most applicable and particularly conclusive. Unfortunately, the 2008 Radiance workshop link appears to be broken - I just get the 400 Bad Request page. Would you be able to re-post?
