unmet clg and unmet clg -occ difference

Hi,

The meaning of unmet clg and unmet clg - occ seems self - explanatory but I am having a hard time making a difference between them. Could you please confirm the meaning of those considering that for one of my thermal zones, I am getting the following response:

  • unmet Htg: 0
  • unmet Htg - Occ: 0
  • unmet Clg: 7400
  • unmet Clg - Occ: 2947

Do they make sense? The addition of which numbers should add up to 8760?

Thanks,

Unmet hours are the sum of hours when the zone air temperature is outside the zone setpoint temperature deadband and additional unmet hours tolerance. Occupied unmet hours are unmet hours when the zone has non-zero occupancy.

In your model, the zone has 7400 hours where the zone air temperature is above the cooling thermostat setpoint plus the unmet cooling hours temperature tolerance. Of these 7400 hours, 2947 hours occur when the zone has non-zero occupancy.

None of these should sum to 8760. "Unmet Clg" is all unmet cooling hours (occupied and unoccupied, not just unoccupied). "Unmet Clg - Occ" just includes hours in which there are occupants (as you likely inferred). So, it is reasonable for these to sum to a value greater than 8760; however, neither of these values should exceed 8760, individually, and "Unmet Clg - Occ" should always be less than or equal to "Unmet Clg." Does this make sense?
