Profiles in DesignBuilder

Dear all,

I'm looking to the database of profiles (occupancy, DHW, equip, lighting..) and gains (occupancy, equip, DHW..) stored within Design Builder.

Does someone know the source of these templates and the standards they're coming from? on what hypothesis these values are calculated?

Thanks,

Nassim

There should be a sub-folder within the DesignBuilder schedules library called "ASHRAE 90.1-2007." Most of these profiles come from the ASHRAE 90.1-2007 User's Manual, which are generally considered acceptable for load profile assumptions in the absence of more detailed programmatic scheduling. I don't know where the non-ASHRAE schedules come from, but if you're concerned about their validity then I'd stick with the ones under the ASHRAE sub-folder.

Hi mikesweeney, I am aware about the ASHRAE profiles. Those are building profiles and indeed can be used for general simulation not taking in account detailed functions. What I want to know about, are the rest of the profiles which are representing the 95% of the profiles in DesignBuilder. I guess it is something related with UK NCM but I can't find anything about the source of them.

understood. good question and i'm not sure i have the answer; i'd reach out to the DesignBuilder team directly or look through the help guide to see where they come from. in my experience, a lot of the HVAC setpoint schedules and/or default curves aren't applicable for many of the projects i'm working on.
