I am trying to implement a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery for a passive house. Can you help me identify the best objects to use in this case?

The air is extracted from bathrooms and kitchen and fressh air is suplied in the living room and bedrooms. There are some many options in Energy Plus and feel a bit confused at the moment because I am a civil engineer and not a specialist in building services and systems.

I can think of 2 ways to model this.

1) use supply registers (I assume AirTerminal:SingleDuct:Uncontrolled) in all zones and ensure that supply air flow rate to bathrooms and kitchen meet or exceed exhaust air flow rate. The supply air will end up there anyway given the draw from exhaust fans, although I expect the exhaust fans will be scheduled and not operate continuously resulting in over-cooling at times when the exhaust fans are off.

2) use ZoneMixing objects to transfer air to the bathrooms and kitchen from a zone or zones where fresh air enters. Use the same schedules and flow rate for exhaust fans and zone mixing objects. When the exhaust fans are not active, use CrossMixing objects to exchange energy between the non-conditioned zone and conditioned zones (at a flow rate of your choosing). This method better represents how a zone without supply air would respond to exhaust air flow.
