After installing OpenStudio 2.0.0. (64bit) in addition to OpenStudio 1.13 (32bit) with Sketchup Make 2016 (32bit) now Sketchup no longer recognizes the OS 1.13 plugin but complains that OS 2.0 is not a legitimate win32-application.
Do I have to de-install OpenStudio 2.0 again, or is there a more preferable work-around ?
The Good News is that OpenStudio 2.0 (64bit) and OpenStudio 1.14 (32bit) with Sketchup Make 2016 (32bit) can coexist: If you install OpenStudio 2.0 first, and OpenStudio 1.14 (32bit) afterwards, Sketchup (32bit) will recognize the OpenStudio 1.14 plugin. So apparently it's the last install that determines what Sketchup is looking for. This has been tested on my Windows10 computer.
OpenStudio 2.0 no longer supports 32bit, and there are no plans to do so. That should have been documented in the readme, but was overlooked. We'll correct that ASAP.
Your best option is to uninstall 2.0 and revert to a 1.1x installation if you are on a 32bit system.
Thanks ! But as a follow-up question: how does Sketchup determine which plugin to choose ? E.g., if I install OpenStudio 1.14 (32bit ) after OpenStudio 2.0, could this make any difference ? Or is it possible to adjust some PATH definitions etc. such that Sketchup will look for the right version of Openstudio installed ?
You are correct that the last installer you run determines which version of OpenStudio is placed into your SketchUp install. However, you can manually change which version of OpenStudio that SketchUp loads by manually copying a few files as described in this post.
