Batch simulation results for different location - interpretation

I created a reference building model with ice storage and ran for multiple locations. Most of the components are auto sized apart from the storage tank itself (cooling).

On analysis, the setpoint not met values are in the range of 5 to 99 hours. However, the ASHRAE 55-2004 has very high unmet hours, from 375 to 2364 hours.

What would be the right approach in going about fixing this? Note that I do not have access to ASHRAE 55-2004.

This is also the case for RefBldgLargeOfficeNew2004_chicao.idf. The ASHRAE 55-2004 hours not comfortable is 2333 for Golden_CO. Is this acceptable for typical simulations?

Those ASHRAE 55 hours are not usually considered "Unmet." As comfort values they include zone radiant temperatures and it is (usually) just the zone air temperature that needs to be "met."

To reduce the number of ASHRAE 55 hours you can tighten up the thermostat ranges so that the air temperature is controlled more closely, for example heat to 22.5C instead of 21.0C. This will pull more of the surface temperatures to be within a comfortable range. Better windows and insulation can help as well but that changes the baseline.

Thanks, If ASHRAE 55 is not considered as unmet hours, then I won't need any modifications.

My objective is to use the reference building model as a baseline, and thus I don't want to modify the windows and insulation. I will keep your suggestions in mind for if I need to reduce the ASHRAE 55 hours.
