Thin vs. Bold Lines when using pencil tool to draw lines in sketchup

I have been using the pencil tool to draw squares on the side of my building in SketchUp and then add photovoltaics to those squares using the OpenStudio Plug-In. All the sudden, whenever I draw lines, they are more bold than the other lines I've been drawing and it wont let me select the scare to add photovoltaics to it. It almost seems as if the lines are behind the surface when you select the them. I'm not sure what made it so the lines started to be bold, or how to switch it back.

Surfaces in an OpenStudio model should be contained with a surface group, such as a space, a shading surface group, or an interior partition surface group. It sounds like you are not inside one of those groups, or for some other reason, the you are drawing lines away from the existing surfaces in that surface group.

What is your intent, are you trying to turn convert walls or roof surfaces to PV, or do you want to draw shading surfaces and use them as PV?

If you are using walls as PV, you can set the entire wall as PV, and then enter a fraction of the surface to contain PV, vs .trying to model individual panels.
