openstudio measure and setting Building Orientation

I'm having a hard time using the openstudio measure "Rotate Building Relative to Current Orientation". i real a previous post that said i should add the external measure to c/users/openstudio/measures and then it's supposed to appear when i sync project measures with library but that didn't happen. i need to simulate the impact on changing the building orientation on the Energy consumption.

By default your measure folder is located at C:\Users\XXXX\OpenStudio\Measures where XXX is your windows username, and can also be reached at %userprofile%\OpenStudio\Measures.

In this case, this isn't how you should be setting it up. This measure is from the BCL. In the OpenStudio Application, under the measure tab, or in the first tab of PAT, click on "Find Measures on BCL" and locate the one you want. Check the box, and click "Download".

BCL measure

You can then see it in your measures, with a "BCL" tag next to it.

My measures

You can then drag this measure to your project and customize the rotation value.

thanks very much for your reply, i deeply appreciate it and i did what i got the results i need but yet i wonder how to add and use an external measure in my openstudio stimulation if i tried these steps"add the external measure to c/users/openstudio/measures" and the measure doesn't appear when i synchronize it from the library?

Place it in the right location... Open OpenStudio app, Preferences > Change My Measure Directory and see which one it is. Place your measure folder in there.

Example, if your measure is called "Rotate Building", place a folder there : C:\Users\XXXXX\OpenStudio\Measures\Rotate Building\ and directly in "Rotate Building" folder you should have a measure.rb
