I want to compare thermal features of two bricks with diverse colors. How it is possible to identify colors by Energyplus? Is the color of materials take affect conductivity in default material sets in Energyplus ?
You can't change the color in the OS or E+, I don't believe there is any place for the color settings. However, different colors give different thermal properties such as thermal absorptance, solar absorptance which can be modified in Materials tab.
Constructions can have colors assigned to them in OpenStudio. If you switch to render by construction you can use the inspector tool to see the 'Surface Rendering Name' which is the color assigned to the construction.
You can find the object of the same name in the SketchUp Materials tray, if you double click this you can edit the color.
You will see these colors in render by construction mode.
You can do the same thing for stories, space types, and thermal zones. We don't have support to change color for every supported object in the OpenStudio Application but this could be added.
I don't think he's talking about how the model renders. He's trying to compare the absorptance/reflectance of different materials.
different rendering settings in OS don't relate to thermal features of zone's surfaces. These are just about visualisation.
