How can I input the elevator load in the OpenStudio.
Is it necessary to attend the Appendix G of ASHRAE 90.1, right?
Here's how I do it. I model an elevator shaft as a single thermal zone (multiple spaces but one thermal zone). I attach to that zone an ElectricEquipment object with the rated power of the elevator and I use the elevator operation schedule from ASHRAE 90.1-1989 (also in ASHRAE 90.1-2007 User's Manual) for the building type being modelled (retail, office, etc.). I modify the schedule to fit the actual operation hours of the building.
And yes, this is necessary for App G of ASHRAE 90.1/LEED. The elevator energy use is considered as process energy.
@Patrick Bivona Can you share a page number, link, citation, anything pointing to where we can find the schedules for elevator usage in different building types? We've looked in the user’s manual for 90.1-1989, but that only has information on lighting and ventilation in the elevator. One of my coworkers has spent quite a bit of time trying to find schedules and keeps hitting dead ends. Anything you could provide would be appreciated.
@mldichter You can find the elevator schedule for different building types in ASHRAE 90.1-2007 User's Manual, pages G-39 to G-49.

@Patrick Bivona Do you know where we could find the Large Hotel and Apartment schedules? It doesn't quite have all the building types in it.
