HVAC sizing Openstudio

Hello, I have Openstudio version 1.8.0 and I don't understand what I have to do in the “Thermal Zone” section so that I can have the air-conditioning and heating powers to set up after selecting “Run simulation”. 2 years ago, in the “Thermal Zones” section, I know that I had to drag and drop CLG HVAC in the “Cooling Thermostat schedule” section and HTG HVAC in the “Heating Thermostat schedule” section, then run the simulation. I just need to be able to size the heating and cooling capacities I'll need to install in my building. Can anyone help me?

I would recommend utilizing the ZoneHVAC:IdealLoadsAirSystem. In the OpenStudio interface, there should be a check mark by each thermal zone to turn on ideal air system. In addition, each thermal zone will need a ZoneControl:Thermostat for cooling and heating. If you load in a common library, there should be a schedule for each like you mentioned.

Before running the simulation, I would recommend adding internal loads and outside air requirements (DesignSpecification:OutdoorAir). A weather file and design day data will also be needed to run the simulation.

Hello, Thank you for your help, but where can I find ZoneControl:Thermostat for cooling and heating? And how I can add it on openstudio? In addition, how and where I can add internal loads and outside air requirements? I'm not comfortable with or familiar with the workings of Openstudio. If you can provide screenshots, that would be very useful.

I would recommend reading the "internal loads" and "Design Specification Outdoor Air" section of this website. The youtube video will show you how to set up ideal air loads. Running an older version of OpenStudio may not be exactly the same, but it will be very similar.
