I am trying to test different IDF files to know if they were model according to plans and standards. I get files from different versions (totally) to different way of inserting data like using people for meter acquire to total people in a zone. or electricity. it can be in a lot of variations.

Do anyone know a tool/ function/ library for that? What about running the file in EnergyPlus on the right version and extract the input data from the output file?

or maybe use a version-conversion and then extract the data? (this option still leaves me with a lot of ways that each one can create every paragraph in the input files. too many options)data?
