json files of DOE prototype buildings in open studio?

When I import idf files of DOE prototype buildings into OpenStudio, The geometry will not be imported. Does anyone know how can I import geometry? Or is there a place that I can download json files of the DOE prototype buildings?

Are these prototype .idf files downloadable? Can you share a hyperlink? If not, consider sharing one or two of them (e.g. Google Drive link).

Sounds odd, as OpenStudio is usually very reliable when importing .idf geometry, constructions and schedules.

Yes you can find the prototype models here: [https://www.energycodes.gov/prototype...] I don't know why when I import idf files, schedules and geometry won't be imported properly.

Unless there is a reason you want the specific geometry of the prototypes, I highly recommend checking out the Model Articulation Gem. The measures there will allow you to be much more flexible in working with prototypical assumptions. It takes some experimentation to get used to but workflows based on that gem are much more powerful than the standalone prototypes. A good starting place is to use create_bar_from_building_type_ratios followed by create_typical_building_from_model. Start simple then explore new combinations.

This might be the issue with schedules? https://github.com/NREL/OpenStudio/is...

Those .idf files are EnergyPlus version v22.1, compatible with OpenStudio CLI 3.4 / OpenStudioApplication 1.4.

I indeed encounter geometry import issues with more recent OpenStudioApplication editions (e.g. 1.7). No issues opening (and visualizing) these files when importing them using OpenStudioApplication 1.4.

So I suggest you first try using OpenStudioApplication 1.4, then recovering the (partial) generated/saved .osm file using a more recent OpenStudioApplication edition if needed.
