Modeling air filter in EnergyPlus to capture particulates from fresh outdoor air of ventilation system

Hello everyone, I am modeling a ventilation system with an outdoor airflow rate of 0.00944 m³/s per person. However, since I have included generic outdoor contaminants in the model, the results indicate elevated indoor contaminant levels. In reality, ventilation systems utilize filtered fresh air. Does anyone have ideas on how to incorporate filtered air into my ventilation system for a more accurate representation?

You should have entered Outdoor Generic Contaminant Schedule Name in ZoneAirContaminantBalance. I don't know the actual outdoor contaminant level you are using, but let's say it is 100 [ppm]. If the collection efficiency of your air filter is 95% for example, you can change the Outdoor Generic Contaminant Schedule from 100 [ppm] to 100*(1-0.95) = 5 [ppm].

Another Option: If you want to model hybrid ventilation, you can keep the Outdoor Generic Contaminant Schedule 100 [ppm] and use ZoneContaminantSourceAndSink:Generic:Constant to model how much contaminant is removed by the air filter.

Thank you for your assistance. While the solution works effectively for mechanical ventilation, it could pose complications in cases of hybrid ventilation, especially when windows are opened. This is because there is no filter for the windows.

I added another option.
