BEopt ground source loop type: Open or closed?

BEopt's help specifies that GSHP are modeled as vertical bores rather than horizontal fields, but are these open or closed-loop? I shouldn't think it matters in most cases, since this parameter is used to determine the equipment's rated efficiency (which one sets directly in BEopt), but I am curious.

It's assumed to be closed loop, which comprises 90+% of the residential market.

On a related note, we are working on new geothermal loop and soil inputs to allow users more flexibility/detail. We hope to pull those inputs into BEopt at some point.

Great. Still no desuperheater I see, although one can roughly fake it by artificially inflating the efficiency and cost of the water heater options.

I think we can add a desuperheater option without too much effort. I'll see if we can add it for the next release.
