Does anybody know if E+ V8.3 crashes easily? I used V8.3 to model a ground source heat pump and I was at the middle of fixing the model but now the model just crash and I can not see anything in the err. file. Please advise.

Hi Eshagh! Although I can't see the file, I have noticed that if you have an error in your equipment connections (typo, connection error something like that), EnergyPlus crashes with an empty error file. Have a look there just in case, that has always been my problem when the error file comes up empty.
Hi Annie, Thanks for sharing your experience. The model ran through the design days and start to crash when it starts the yearly simulation. It could be like the typo error as I used the text file, however, I did not receive like the crashed error message before with empty error file. Hey Eshagh, I had a quick look through, the "DOAS outdoor air schedule" nor the "DOAS always on schedule" were not in your compact schedules. Your "DOAS Branch List" is missing from the branch lists and so is your "DOAS Availability Manager List" and when i looked i couldn't see a DOAS branch either. I think it is to do with your DOAS system. Let me know if fixing that doesn't work.
Hi Annie, Thanks for your comments. I will fix them and will let you know if there is any problem. I do not remember that such connection errors would result in a direct crash with empty error file.
They shouldn't result in a hard crash, EnergyPlus handles most erroneous situations by providing the error file. If possible, submit your input file to the EnergyPlus HelpDesk (energyplus.helpserve.com) so that the development team can use it as the basis for filing an issue and adding error handling so that the crash is changed to an informative severe error.

@Eshagh, what exactly crashed? EnergyPlus while it was running? Or the model editing application (OpenStudio, DesignBuilder, IDF-editor) while you were trying to fix up the model?
@Amir, Thanks for your response. I was running EnergyPlus and was fixing the errors and finally I just received the crash message "EnergyPlus Crashed". I tried to figure it out myself and fixed couple of things in there but I still receive the crashed message. And when I open the error file, it's just simply empty and there is nothing in there. So I wondering if it's because of the new version 8.3 and some bugs it has or maybe it's a severe error I could not find and fix? C:\fakepath\E+Crash.png Thanks
