How to control ventilation using ASHRAE Adaptive for AirflowNetwork object?

EnergyPlus Input/Output reference say that if the ASHRAE Adaptive control is selected to run AirflowNetwork:Multiface:Surface, ventilation will run according to this comfort model and a venting availability schedule. In my model, ventilation is respecting only ASHARE Adaptive control, but I really need to control the availability for the Winter. I've put a availability schedule (fraction) where I tell the model to turn off ventilation for this period, but when I check for the AFN outputs (opening Modulation Multiplier) all the windows appear to be closed. What am I missing?

From the IO Ref (for 8.3) on the venting availability schedule for surfaces:

A zero or negative schedule value means venting is not allowed. A value greater than zero means venting can occur if other venting control conditions (specified by Ventilation Control Mode and Vent Temperature Schedule Name) are satisfied.

So it seems like it is behaving as it should, since turning off the venting availability should close the windows.

That's right, but the results are absolutely the same with or without the schedule, it appears to be running only under the ventilation control mode ASHRAE Adaptive. That's why I can't understand how the relationship between this kind of control and the schedule is working. Any thoughts?

All that says to me is that possibly the ASHRAE Adaptive mode never tries to open the windows when the availability schedule says it cannot. If you need more advanced controls, you might want to try the new occupant ventilation control object.
