Why is air temp. (without conditioning) higher for middle floors?

Hi all

I am running an energy simulation for a three-story office building. I want to know the air temperatures in each of the thermal zone as is i.e. without conditioning. The “is conditioned” is thus set to false. A few trees are there in the context.

The “color zones” for air temp. from “read EP result” component show that the middle floors have the highest temp. Should it not be the upper floors?

Two big factors are what the environmental conditions are and what internal loads are like, and do they vary across spaces. In a cold climate or in a space with excessive internal loads the ground exposed floor and exterior exposed roof could serve as a heat sink.

Thanks for your response David.

I would like to inform you that the building being simulated is situated in a warm humid climate (Mumbai, India). All the loads (occupancy, lighting etc.) and zone sizes are similar for all three floors. Please share your insights.
