Changing energy source data in EneryPlus ?

Hello,

I work in a building project located in Quebec, in Canada. In this territory, the main energy source is hydroelectricity. Hydroelectricity: 38% Petrol: 34% Natural gas: 15% Biomass: 7% Windpower: 7% Coal: 0.5% Renewable natural gas: 0.2% Electricity: 0.1%

So, I am looking for how can I change the actual data for these? May I put the proportion? Can I also change the origin?

A word of caution: the energy source breakdown you suggest does not reflect what's available (or used) in the building sector in Quebec - the majority of buildings are all-electric (above 90% in new housing), for instance.

HQ provides live reporting of electricity-generation (as well as annual tabulated data) here. Stats Can also keeps track of provincial/territorial electricity-generation sources (lagging a few years behind) - look for Tables 8 & 9. The breakdown of heating energy sources/technologies per building segment (existing vs new, electric heating vs gas) is harder (but not impossible) to obtain - as an academic you should try getting in contact with HQ's IREQ. Bonjour @Lauriepique. Aaron gave a nice summary here of what you seem to be looking for: Fuel and Environmental Impact factors. What may be confusing for some is that the default factors are implicit within EnergyPlus, i.e. not explicitly written out in an IDF (to be subsequently edited). It is however very straightforward to copy/paste any examples of either objects in an IDF (see linked Input Output Reference examples of either objects), and edit them accordingly - necessary if one needs to define schedules of hourly variations of emission factors, for example.
