Install OpenStudio SketchUp Plugin on Mac OSX

Can anyone help check whether the Legacy OpenStudio Plug-in for SketchUp V 1.0.11 (http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/building...) is indeed the latest version for Mac OSX? I have followed the entire installation procedure with SketchUp 2014, EnergyPlus 8.2, Openstudio 1.5 installed. But, the OpenStudio Plugin shown in the SketchUp looks like the very old version, e.g., it does not have the gbxml import function. I took two screenshots but do not have enough points to upload files.

I'm not a Mac user, but first thing is I don't believe OS 1.5 supports E+8.2, but rather E+8.1.

@albozian Per the OpenStudio Installation Instructions: "OpenStudio is supported on Windows 7 - 8.1, OS X 10.9, and 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04. OpenStudio 1.5.0 works with EnergyPlus 8.1" so the answer to your question is no.

Hi @Yuming, the legacy SketchUp plug-in has not yet been updated for E+ 8.2 yet. However, the current legacy plug-in does not support gbXML import nor will the version updated for E+ 8.2.

The new OpenStudio platform does include support for gbXML. If you install the current version of this platform, OpenStudio 1.5.0, you should see support for gbXML import. OpenStudio 1.5.0 supports E+ 8.1.

HI @ Daniel, Thanks for your answer. In fact, my primary reason to install and use SketchUp Plugin is to test the gbXML import and export function. I have attended one of previous webinar introducing OpenStudio and Simergy. In that video, the gbxml was imported through SketchUp.

Since the new OpenStudio application supports gbXML, I would like to work with OpenStudio application. I just did a test regarding the function. I started from a OpenStudio model (.osm) and export to gbxml and then import into OpenStudio from this gbXML file, i.e., .osm --> Expert to gbXML, --> Import to .osm. However, it seems the gbxml model does not have the thermal zoning, story information. As least, the second osm model can not directly run without some changes. I was wondering do you have an example gbxml model that can import to

There are example gbXML files at gbXML.org, http://gbxml.org/samplegbxmlfiles.php

Sorry, this isn't very well documented I attached some screen shots below. You should be able to have one version of the legacy OpenStudio and one version of the new OpenStudio installed in SketchUp; but you have to use the "Select OpenStudio Version" menu item and then restart SketchUp to switch back and forth. As Kent mentioned you will have to have EnergYPlus 8.1 to run simulations with OpenStudio 1.5.

Below are some screenshots to walk you through the process. I installed the Legacy OpenStudio after the new one on my machine, I can't remember if the install order still matters. It might, so if you don't see the version switcher then re-install the legacy plugin.
