Unable to run a parametric simulation with a prototype building.

I want to create a parametric model and want to know the energy use for different parameters like reducing lpd, increasing R value of a specific construction, and all. So I can use the measure called create prototype building and then select the building for which I want to run the simulation but when I apply the measures like Increase the R value etc the measure asks for the construction in the building, but the dropdown menu in the measure shows nothing since I am creating a prototype building by running the measure as attached in the Image below. Also I have imported the openstudio model where I ran the create doe prototype building measure but still in PAT it does not show any space type construction layers etc.

What is the best way to run a parametric simulation for a prototype building? I want to inspect the impact of changing the R values, using different HVAC systems, reducing the lpd etc to find out the best possible scenario for the prototype building. image description

I assume that you need to choose a model in the "Model To Base Inputs On" dropdown, and then the constructions from that model will be available for selection.

I am attaching a test osm model which does not have anything in it.

I don’t think you can string these two measures together like this, since the latter requires a construction as an input, but the model and its constructions are generated on the fly.

What you could do though is apply the prototype measure in the OpenStudio application, save the osm, and then use that in PAT along with your construction, lighting, etc. measures.

PAT was updated to take a user string for a model object argument such as this, for this use case, but you need to know exactly what the construction will be named by the earlier measure. The best way to do that may be to run once with just the prototype, grab the name, and use that for the argument in the next measure.

@Rwadhwa910 you ca also just use a measure to change R value of exterior walls that isn't dependent on the construction name, such as Increase R-value of Insulation for Exterior Walls By a Specified Percentage.

@davidgoldwasser I am doing the same thing first running the prototype measure and then adding other measures but still the measures that requires inputs from the building do not show anything when I scroll down in the measure. Also @shorowit I have done the same thing that you said but the issue still remains the same.

Even after running the DOE prototype measure when I scroll down in reducing equipment load the measure do not show me what all space types I can apply the measure to.
