Modeling DOAS supply through a Hallway?

Hi all,

I am wondering about the appropriate way to model a DOAS system? I'm looking at a multi-family residential, with a split-heat pumps for heat/cool in the units, and rooftop DOAS (gas reheat, no cooling) which is supplied into the hallways, and through the hallways into the residential units themselves. There is no direct supply from the DOAS into the residential units - it is only through the hallways. The residential units have typical bath/kitchen extract fans.

So I wonder what the appropriate way to model a fresh air configuration of this sort would be? Can I connect the residential zones downstream of the hallways somehow? If there are any good examples / documentation / references for something of this sort I would appreciate any information.

thank you! -Ed

One option for introducing hallway air into the residential units is to use a ZoneMixing object, where you can specify the scheduled flow rate of air that is provided from the hallway zone to the residential thermal zones.

Hi shorowit,

Thanks very much. I appreciate the input. It appears that the ZoneMixing objs are not implemented in OS? Do you know if that is correct?

Regardless, thanks for the pointer. best, -Ed

If your question is about the OpenStudio application, I don't know. But it is available in the SDK and there are OpenStudio measures (like this one) for it.
