Cannot launch OpenStudio

I saved OpenStudio in the C directory during installation and cannot locate where to launch the program when installation has finished.

This has been a common question recently. I assume that you are trying to use the OpenStudio application (i.e., the graphical user interface). To do this, first make sure you are downloading the OpenStudio application release (currently at v1.1.0.) which is the second option from here. After installing the software, you should be able to launch it by clicking on "OpenStudioApp.exe" in the "bin" folder created in the directory. So for your case it should be under "C:\openstudioapplication-1.1.0\bin". You can also check this post and this.

Edited based on Shazil's comment:

There are two different releases: 1) the OpenStudio Application Release (currently at v1.1) which provides you with the graphical user interface and 2) the OpenStudio Release (currently at v3.1), i.e. the Software Development Kit (SDK) in which you can programmatically access OpenStudio model. The OpenStudio Command Line Interface (CLI) is a self-contained executable which includes everything needed to apply OpenStudio Measures to an OpenStudio Model and run an EnergyPlus simulation. Refer to Installation instructions and OpenStudio Command Line Interface. Others may comment based on their experience.

Hi Anmar, I downloaded the OpenStudio Application Release 1.1.0 and the .exe file opens as it should, thanks for that. Originally I downloaded the Open Studio Release 3.1.0. The .exe file could not open with that application. I need to be able to use the Energyplus plugin. Can it work with the 1.1.0 version? I really need some help getting started with this. Maybe a brief walkthrough on how to get started. It would be greatly appreciated. Shazil

Shazil, I edited my original answer to include useful links on how to get started with the OpenStudio SDK.
