Downgrading input data file for matlab co-simulation toolbox

Dear all,

The latest updates in SketchUp and OpenStudio now export input data files (.idf) for EnergyPlus v9.4.0. I want to downgrade my model to v9.2.0, which would be compatible with Matlab's EnergyPlus co-simulation toolbox.

I have tried the solutions mentioned on this forum (using Euclid, IDF file editor), but I did not manage to succeed.

Does anyone have an easy way of downgrading? Or does anyone know when the co-simulation toolbox will be upgraded?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply. Installing an older version of the OpenStudio application could work, but v2.9 is not compatible with Sketchup 2020 Pro, which I use right now (sorry for not including the version).

Update: I managed to install Sketchup make 2017 and got the Openstudio v2.9 working, made my model and got an IDF file v9.2. Great!

However, I ran into a new problem with Matlab. I will make another post if necessary. Thanks again.

You're welcome, I've converted my comment to an answer if you want to accept that (click on the checkmark) so that others know it solved your issue. Good catch that the OpenStudio application v2.9 requires older versions of SketchUp.

Could you use an older version of the OpenStudio application that generates IDFs for EP v9.2? That would be OpenStudio application v2.9 which would avoid the need to "downgrade" the exported IDF which is a process that doesn't seem to currently have a tool to automate. The third comment for the second answer near the bottom of this post discusses how to manually downgrade an IDF using the IDD file for each EP version.
