Add new Device Definition similar to lights

How can i add new equipment definition Similar to lights. The definition are derived from energyplus IDD objects . so do i need to define the new Energy plus IDD objects ?

I just want to use it for the system define purpose and not for energy calculations.

Please help how to go about this issue
