baseline and proposed model order in net zero energy buildings

Hi everybody, I modeled an existing building in designbuilder to optimise energy consumption.I want to renovate it as a nearly zero energy building and compare it with ASHRAE model.I was wondering if I should make baseline model from existing model , and then make necessary changes to achieve lower energy consumption than ASHRAE model or apply changes(like PV penels or overhangs) and then make baseline model to compare?Thank you in advance.

Depending on how much knowledge you have of ASHRAE 90.1 it could take a long time to do this manually, but you can automate the baseline building creation (from your proposed building) in DesignBuilder. This process is fully explained in the DesignBuilder Help. I would suggest you follow the step-by-step procedure in DesignBuilder's ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G User Guide (see link at the top of the Program Help page) here: https://designbuilder.co.uk/helpv6.0/...
