Most common energy model software
What are (in your opinion) the most common energy model software (top five) use in the u.s? Is it based on energy plus?

While I agree with Amir's point that this forum will have a selection bias, considering how most design load sizing is a form of energy modeling, the answer is:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Excel, with VBA macros spawned from Dante's fifth level of hell
- A hand calculator where people multiply sf/ton values they have written on a sticky note on their monitor
- Trace/HAP and other mechanical load calculation software
- Everything else is in the noise

This is not the right forum for this question. First, it isn't intended for these types of questions. Second, there is a significant selection bias as most of the questions posted are about EnergyPlus or one of its interfaces, mostly OpenStudio but recently also DesignBuilder. All that said, I am pretty sure that the most commonly used software in the US is (still) eQuest.
