Can Energy Plus model internal shading?

Hello,

I am trying to determine the thermal comfort of a high indoor space with skylights and shading fins located underneath the skylight. I was wondering if Energy Plus can model the effects of the fins.

My understanding is that the temperatures required for thermal comfort (ambient temperature and mean radiant temperature) are at either zone level or surface level, so any objects located within a zone will not be able to affect these. Is this correct?

In this case, are there any possible workarounds this?

Thanks!
