Number of baseline Chillers - LEED v4

Hi,

I have a baseline model from a restaurant that is a combination of System 7 and 8 ASHRAE 90.1-2010, and a LEED reviewer has questioned the number of chillers in my model, based on Table G3.1.3.7. If I have two different systems can I have two chillers? A primary and a secondary chiller? Due to this mix of systems, can I connect the two chillers on the same condenser (system 7 and 8 chillers)?

I would first question whether you have more than 20k ft2 of non-predominant heating source spaces in order to need systems 7 and 8. Assuming that is the case, I believe you should have a single CHW loop serving both system types and the number of chillers is still determined by the total loop capacity. I can't think of any specific wording in App. G to address this, but if I have other baseline system combinations such as a mix of system 1 and 7, I would have a single CHW loop serving all systems.
