How to Access DOE2 in BEopt?

I am unable to get any other option in the simulation engine box under tools except 'enable energy plus'. Run times are lengthy and options are limited. The video said that that option to include DOE2 is done at installation. So I uninstalled and then reinstalled. The option to include DOE2 never came up. I have eQuest installed on my computer which includes DOE2, but BEopt does not seem able to access it. I did not do a separate installation of Energy Plus which BEopt does seem to be able to access, either. So then I tried a separate installation of DOE2.2 to the root of my C drive as recommended with still no BEopt access to DOE2. In the process of getting my DOE2 license, Jeff Hirsch responded to my concerns saying that he has no idea where BEopt accesses simulation engines and has not installed personally for a number of years. I am getting 50 minute run times for some fairly simple design mode simulations on heat pumps with Energy Plus and would really like to get it under control.

Older versions of BEopt supported both the DOE2 and EnergyPlus simulation engines, but newer versions of BEopt only support EnergyPlus. This decision was made because 1) DOE2 increasingly lacked the ability to model more sophisticated residential technologies compared to EnergyPlus, and 2) it was twice the work to maintain connections to two different engines.
