using DOE reference buildings for energy analysis

Hi,

I'm a beginner with Energyplus and I want to conduct a study on HVAC energy efficiency. Since my research is simulation-based I preferred to use DOE reference building in order to validate my study.

I wanna know a bit of expert advice about using these buildings for my case study. Are there any unforeseen challenges for me using these standard building as I'm new to Energyplus?

It's about the effect of adding thermal storage to plant loop (chilled water loop) and controlling its charging and discharging. I will use EMS or MLE+ for controlling purposes.
