EnergyPlus file generator
Why is the energy plus example file generator link not working ? Is there any other way where I can create example idf file on my own and play with it ?

That project was deprecated a long time ago. There was a thought to developing a new site that would generate either OpenStudio or EnergyPlus models, but that never got going either. I don't know of other similar resources.

@JY what specifications are you concerned about for your example IDF file? Trying to get a sense if using the resulting IDF file from the DOE Prototype measure would be helpful, or if you are looking for more customization. If you are looking for more customization, in what aspects of the model?
I want to create an example idf file with custom building area and specifications. To my best knowledge, the design has to be done by using sketchup. The buildings design details are not my main interest, rather I just want to use specific floor area for my design. Is there any other way to change the floor area of any example energyplus file ? Using the idf editor, I am not being able to change the area.
