"PlantLoop" object usage

Hello World!

I am still newby in EnergyPlus and stucked in PlantLoop object usage. I am trying to simulate a Solar Cooling System through an absorption chiller. I have 4 loops.

1- Glycol Water Loop, 2- Hot Water Loop, 3-Chilled Water Loop, 4-Cooling Tower Loop

As I understand from User Manual of EnergyPlus about PlantLoops "Plant Application Guide", after I identify the branches, connectors, splitters and all the other equipment I should define the loops with PlantLoop object.

I got confused, because in the Plant Application Guide, only chillers, cooling towers and boilers are identified in PlantLoop object.

All the branches and equipment are identified in EnergyPlus and now I need to use PlantLoop object. Can I use PlantLoop object for all these 4 loops?? Or should I use it for equipment which is identified as PlantObject in energyplus?

Thanks in advance

Yes -- you can use 4 PlantLoop objects to represent the loops in your diagram. Even though some components are not listed in the Plant Application Guide that you mention. I would recommend using an interface (OpenStudio, DesignBuilder, etc.) to build these loops and have it connect the components because connecting inlet/outlet nodes by manually editing the IDF input file would take longer and likely have some errors to debug.
