BEOpt keeps saying there is no heating equipment or no cooling equipment when I have specified it

Can I use minisplit as a cooling equipment along with radiant hot water (boiler?) I can't figure out how to set up a system with hot water radiant and minisplit for cooling?image description

As you can see there is still a cooling load despite the error messages?

BEopt cannot model multiple pieces of equipment that both provide heating (or cooling). Since BEopt assumes that the mini-split will be providing both, it cannot be combined with a boiler. If you have a mini-split selected and then try to select a boiler (or vice versa), it will automatically deselect the other option to prevent two pieces of equipment providing heating.

That said, you could use BEopt to do two separate runs -- one with a mini-split and one with a boiler/AC -- and then combine the results using the cooling energy from the mini-split run and the heating energy from the boiler run.

Thanks. It would be nice to be able to show minisplit for cooling only, as this is quite often a specified application.

so in my final output everything is identified as Point 1, Point 2, Point 3,, Point 4, Point 5, but I can't figure out ow cases are indicated as Points... which case is which point?

I assume you are in the "Parametric" mode. You can switch to the "Design" mode and then right click on the "My Design" tab. There you can change the name of a single scenario and also create a new design with a proper name. When you run the analysis, the outputs will be shown based on the names you have assigned as opposed to Point 1, 2, etc. This can be a little bit inconvenient when there are multiple design scenarios but I think this is the only way to have the actual names on the output graphs.
