gbxml Export to Lesosai

Hi!

I’m new to Open Studio and would like to use it to export my modells as a gbXML File to do some calculations with a other program (Lesosai). But I can not import the generated gbXML File into Lesosai. According to Lesosai’s support the gbXML-File doesn’t include the “Shellgeometry Info” and “Spaceboundary Info”.

Is there a way to add this to the gbXML-Export?

Currently I’m still using Sketchup 2014 and Open Studio 1.5.2.

OpenStudio does not currently support shell geometry. I am not familiar with many uses of shell geometry, is it used in many applications? Possibly used more outside of the US? @Chienman do you know of any other applications using shell geometry?

Hi there.

There is really only one other company that uses shell geometry, and that is IES<ve>. I could take a look at the file for you and see if I could write a script to construct the shell geometry and space boundaries.

You might want to ask this company if they will accept geometry for the shell geometry and space boundary that is identical (zero thickness walls) because everything generated by SketchUp and OS is a very thin planar wall.

Thanks for your support! Do you talk about the openstudio-gbxml or a example file which works with lesosai? And how can I send it to you? (Sorry for that stupid question...)

Hi there

I have exactly the same problem. The shell geometry is missing in the gbxml export (OpenStudio) so the other software cannot read the room dimensions. Is there already a solution for this issue or did someone write a script who would like to share it?

Thanks, Phil
