How to model eletrochromic glazing in EnergyPlus?

Hello all,

I was wondering if there is any way in EnergyPlus to simulate energy consumption when we have eletrochromic glazing using different visible transmittance values during consecutive hours. As far as I understand the only way to model electrochromic in Eplus is in 'Window Property: ShadingControl'. But it looks like there are some predefined control types and I cannot find a way to define my own schedule for controlling the window.

The NREL Radiance Measure has a facility for this, via the 3-phase method; you have to set up two constructions that represent the glazing Tvis in the tinted and bleached states, and there's a simple window-mounted controller (you can change the setpoint) that dictates which state is used for each (hourly) timestep. For EnergyPlus only, you could use EMS to change the Tvis to your heart's content.

But it looks like the EMS approach only works when the window construction assemblies are defined as individual layers using WindowMaterial: Glazing:

In my model I am using the WindowMaterial:SimpleGlazingSystem for defining the electrochromic glazing properties and I do not want to change this setting since my goal is to compare the results of this simulation with another case and I want the settings to be exactly the same. Can you advise if there is any way for that in EnergyPlus?
