Negative volumes in v8.9 despite all surfaces being correctly oriented [closed]

Dear all,

In a previous post for v8.8 (https://unmethours.com/question/27850... ) a user reported that EnergyPlus was reporting negative values.

In v8.9 I'm also obtaining the same type of trouble, and it is also corrected with the same solution (specifying zone height instead of autocalculate). My model, as far as I have checked, has all the faces oriented correctly. And it is a simple shoe box type of model.

Is there a fix available for this?

Thanks

If you look at the github issue in Jason's answer on the previous question, you will see that a fix was not added to EnergyPlus 8.9. I'm going to close this question as a duplicate.

@david-goldwasser closing this is fine. At some point I should post a tutorial on how to use openstudio or euclid to make it easy to display walls that face the wrong direction.

@JasonGlazer, There is a Render by Surface Normal mode in the OpenStudio SketchUp Plugin, it would be really easy to do this in Euclid since it is just a minor tweak to a native SketchUp functionality. In Style dialog go to second cube in the top row of cubes it takes you to sub-style settings for texturing, then if you pick the second cube in row of cubes in the bottom, it uses a front and back face color, we alter that to red and white.

Nice, I wasn't aware of that option. Thanks.
