BEopt program crashing during optimization run

My optimizations are causing the window "BEopt has stopped working correctly and will be shut down." There are no errors or any additional information. Have tried the optimization on several computers and still not working. Can you get this file to run or suggest troubleshooting? https://www.dropbox.com/s/8lf8hkqxwgx...

I will try running the optimization locally to see if I can reproduce the issue.

This is an issue that some users have reported and we don't know why it happens. It may be caused by an external program (e.g., antivirus) or may be specific to the computer hardware (e.g., graphics card and/or graphics driver). I successfully ran the first optimization case (VN Ref) locally, so I'm not sure what to suggest.

Scott, thanks for doing this. I've just discovered that I can run that case successfully as well, however all of the other cases are crashing on all computers. Do you think you can try a different case to see if it runs? I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue with my model or not.

I've been running your project file and am on the last optimization case. So it's not something in your model. One hypothesis is that the longer BEopt is open, the more likely it is to crash? You might try running one case, closing and re-opening BEopt, and then running the next case. I know this isn't ideal, but I don't have many other ideas.

Duration stability is an interesting idea, but it doesn't help when a single case takes over a hundred hours to run because the modern ODE improvements for HPWH haven't been integrated. As a counter-point, I've had the software crash on very similar models within 1 or 2 days, and others run to completion a week later. No exotic video or antivirus.

On a related note, BEopt only saving once the full case is complete rather than every iteration (a happy medium between case and point), causes all progress to be lost and makes it more difficult to suss out what's happening to boot :-/
