I created a .skp model for a client that I was going to open up in OpenStudio. But I'm not seeing the OS toolbar in the .skp file/model.
1) is it possible to open an existing .skp file in OS? 2) If so, how do I do that?

If you are not seeing a toolbar, first make sure you have the OpenStudio SketchUp pugin installed by looking under "Extensions" for "OpenStudio". Then enable the toolbar under "View/Tool Pallets/" for both "OpenStudio Tools" and "OpenStudio Rendering".
If you want to view an OpenStudio model alongside a SketchUp model, first open your SketchUp model, and then load in the OpenStudio model.This doesn't convert the generic model to an OpenStudio models, but just allows you to overlay them visually in the same 3d space.
Do you have OpenStudio installed and enabled?
Once you have it, you still can't directly open .skp files (and have OpenStudio understand the geometry), but what you can do is create a new OpenStudio model and then incrementally copy the geometry from the .skp file into that model one space or zone at a time.
