I'm don't know if this is the best place to post this, but I have been tripped up by this bug a couple times. I'm using OpenStudio 1.6.0 and it seems that when I change a plant loop assignment on a coil without first unchecking the box it is currently assigned, OS completely shuts down. Is this a known issue?
Yes. This was a bug introduced when we added grid views for the zones and space type interfaces in 1.6.0. I fixed it here in response to a bug submitted by @MatthewSteen here. The fix will roll into the next release (1.7). Until then the work around is to use the "X" directly on the coil while viewing the plant. For instance if you want to remove a a water coil from a plant, navigate to that plant, locate the coil, and click on the x. If the coil is also connected to an air system, it will remain on that air system. You can then reassign the coil to a new plant using the normal methods. Note that if the coil is not assigned to an air system it will be completely removed from the model to avoid having an orphan coil hanging around.

Are you doing this on the right pane of thermal zone tab? I can't reproduce on a mac using 1.6.0 but I'll test on windows machine in the morning and file an issue if I see this.
Can you also confirm if this happens on any new model you make, or if it is specific to one model?
It has happened on at least two unrelated models on two different computers, but the first time I was paying less attention to my sequence of actions were that caused the crash. At the moment I am trying to set up a primary and secondary pump like this: https://unmethours.com/question/2734/... but every time I try to edit the links for the water coil, the whole program crashes. I'm also going to retry in the morning.
