OS schedule measure and Leap Year [closed]

I am writing OS measures which creates Ruleset schedules. I am not sure how OS deals with leap years and how should I approach that in the code? I am aware of the different methods in the SDK that deals with that issue such openstudio::model::ScheduleBase::ensureNoLeapDays but again I am not sure what my code should take care of.

@Julien Marrec I disagree about taging that question duplicate since the question referred by ljbrackney is about weather data. It might be that for you it is obvious how schedules should deal with leap year but for me even after reading that question several times it is still not clear.
