Shading for internal windows

A building with atrium - windows adjacent to it are considered as internal, but they receive a lot of sun. So, we need a shading. But I could not find a workable combination for a shading control - I always receive a message "invalid Shading Control Name because it is not an exterior window" Does it mean that Energy Plus cannot calculate shading for internal windows? E+ 8.8

Not exactly the answer you need, but related to this I do know that in the past light came through internal windows as diffuse light. Not sure if that has changed.

The settings are "Full exterior and interior with reflections". I see the difference in "Zone Internal Window Total Transmitted Beam Solar Radiation Rate" for different windows. For me it sounds like E+ traces the light through a space correctly. Even if it not so and I want to simulate a window with permanent blinds, E+ gives me an error...

the program does not allow shading devices on interior windows - engineering reference. Pity. Any idea how to implement EMS to switch between 2 "Window"filw based construction? I'm not familiar with this instrument and the documentation is quite confusing.
