i am watching your video and i have a question how to convert .bin to .ewp i could not use DOE2.1 i dont know why maybe i didnt have password i wanna put the file to Openstudio Oh! i converted it by Ecotech but the file has been errored. pls help Thanks
First, I would recommend double-checking the EnergyPlus weather library to see if there already is a .epw file that you can use.
If not, then to convert .bin weather files to .epw weather files to use in OpenStudio, I would recommend using Elements instead of the weather file converter tool that comes with EnergyPlus because it's a simpler process and Elements has graphing capabilities to analyze the weather file's data. After you open the .bin file, you can choose to save the data as a .epw file. Note that you will NOT be able to use Elements to convert the .ddy file containing design day conditions used for sizing HVAC equipment in EnergyPlus and OpenStudio. The EnergyPlus weather library contains this file for each location.

What kind of weather file is it? AMY for a specific location? TMY3 file? If TMY3, you could just download the .epw. @joe-huang would know how to convert .bin to .epw. .bin data format explanation.
hello everyone, i was trying to convert EnergyPlus weather (EPW) file to .BIN for eQUEST. But unfortunately i encountered "INVALID FILENAME" error. I'm actually looking for a West African weather file in .bin format. Better still if you can help me convert the epw file i have to .bin, I'd seriously appreciate it. Thank you
