IDF file to OSM -error with HVAC reversion

I am working on PNNL prototype buildings which include all idf files created according to from ASHRAE 90.1-2004 through 90.1-2013. First I got an error about version problem when I tried to import these idf files into Open Studio V2.2. I figured out how to update idf files and I updated them from their current version to EnergyPlus 8.7.0. Now I am trying to import these idf files to osm files but HVAC system does not come properly. I am getting error about fan, HVAC mainly related with energy systems. There is none problem about geometry, constructions, loads, thermal zones and schedules except HVAC. Do you have any idea how I can deal with this problem. Thanks

Is there a reason you need to stay in EnergyPlus?

If not, there's a measure for that, just do this with this.

Thanks. Actually I am trying to not stay in energyplus. So as to do that, I need to find way to import everything from energyPlus to OpenStudio. But it is not working for HVAC.

Importing an IDF to OpenStudio will "reverse translate" everything except the HVAC. If you want to work on the PBMs in EnergyPlus you should stay in EnergyPlus and if you want to work on them in OpenStudio you should create them in a blank OpenStudio model with the measure above in the application (or the CLI in v2.x) and then change the HVAC systems in OpenStudio if that's your goal.

OpenStudio writes EnergyPlus HVAC, but doesn't read. The data model is a bit higher level and so doing that kind of reverse translation is somewhat tricky. It's also not that useful in general workflows so we've just never done it. Not the answer you were hoping for I am sure.
